Robots will steal our jobs! The work environment will change radically! We will need competences! Statements like these might worry. And what do they mean anyway? I want to answer them. Together with futurologists, think tanks and you I will identify and test 30 future jobs. To show chances for humans and companies, to take fear and to have lots of fun during this adventure - these are the goals of this project which will end up in a book at least!

What is this project all about?

Everyone deals with the issue of how we will work in the future. Yet, there are only few statements on what kind of jobs will remain and emerge in the course of progressive digitization.
Together with futurologists, pioneers as well as economic and political stakeholders this is precisely what I aim to find out. Most of these future jobs do no exist yet. However, pioneers and initial approaches already exist. Together with you I will find 30 jobs of the future. I will test these jobs and report on them in my blog. Looking into the glass ball, deriving practical approaches and conclusions, learning from pioneers and taking away the fear of the future that will never change as slowly as it does nowadays. Charlie Chaplin once said “Action is more generally understood than words” and this is exactly what this project is about - together with you.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The aim of this project is to show opportunities and paths for the future of work to individuals and employers. At the same time the objective is to dispel fear and to practically approach this rather theoretical issue. Oftentimes there is the claim for the link between science and practice – here it is! The blog and the book will make readers’ hearts beat faster.

All of you are addressed who look to the future with curiosity but also concern – individuals, companies, associations and the political sphere. I am looking forward to the support of my family, friends and everyone else who encourages this project.

Why would you support this project?

Because you like the project.
Because you are curious about the future.
Because you want to know how and what kind of jobs we will do in the future.
Because you want to receive one of my “thank yous".
Because you want to get involved in the thought process – or maybe not.
Because you are looking forward to a cool blog – and especially the book.
Because you are searching for inspiration for yourself or your company.
Because you think that a future scenario showing concrete opportunities is valuable for society.
Because you believe that we need to be better prepared for the future.
Because you want to realize the opportunity for me to do something very exciting.
Because you like me.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

A successful crowd funding enables me to realize this project. I am planning 24 months for research and accomplishment. The more money, the more extensive the project. If things go well, the project is going international. Your funding will finance the book production, literature and livelihood during the 24 months. Further, your funding will cover my travel expenses which will arise on my journeys to the jobs and interviews with futurologists. However, not only cash is king – I am very much looking forward to your knowledge, input and recognition on my blog and Facebook page.

Who are the people behind the project?

Jannike Stöhr (30) already demonstrated that she can do it during her quest for her dream job when she tested 30 jobs in one year. She is the author of “Das Traumjob-Experiment” (“The dream job experiment”). For around eight years she worked for a German industrial enterprise, thereof six years in human resources in Germany as well as China. She studied economics with a major in personnel and organization. Jannike is board member of the Austrian Initiative “DNA – Das Neue Arbeiten”. Amongst others, she lectured at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung), TEDx in Vienna and the German Brand eins conference. She is ready for a new adventure.
