Was passiert, wenn ein Dorfpfarrer zur Dorfpfarrerin wird? Wir begleiten die spannende Entwicklung der transidenten Pfarrerin Elke Spörkel.

Die Gerüchte, er als Pfarrer würde Frauenkleider tragen, zwingen Hans-Gerd Spörkel nach 27 Jahren seine Gemeinde für eine Auszeit zu verlassen, seine Frau trennt sich von ihm, die Gemeinde wendet sich ab. Ein halbes Jahr später kehrt sie als Elke Spörkel zurück und hält ihren ersten Gottesdienst als Frau. Die Gemeinde nimmt sie wieder auf, doch als Elke einige Jahre später eine neue Beziehung zu einer Frau eingeht, ist für die Kirche endgültig eine Grenze erreicht.
