In the atmospheric building of the Pirna Casern, our project 'TEXTUREN' will enact four concerts combining renaissance and contemporary music with visual arts. Implementing a novel format emanating from circumstances due to Covid-19, our performances will be streamed online. In 2021 and early 2022, we will give one colour-themed performance per season, with no audience present, yet for the largest audience imaginable.
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
In times of social distancing, our vision for this special concert series is to reach a wider public, employing the power of music and visual arts as well as modern technology to overcome imposed social distance and bring audiences together in an extraordinary virtual experience. Our streamed project 'TEXTUREN' will also appreciate and enhance the historic building of the Pirna Casern since this new cultural centre of the Saxon Switzerland region will be internationally displayed.
Why would you support this project?
We have been unable to play live concerts for nearly one year now, as almost all planned projects have been cancelled due to the pandemic. Quite apart from the financial loss, a vast inner void has been created for musicians, visual artists and culturally interested people alike. We are determined to overcome this ubiquitous loss by bringing the public closer to music and visual arts once more. Our streamed project 'TEXTUREN' will be a means to that end.
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
The funds will enable us to cover some of the project's total cost such as the musicians' fees for the autumn concert or the incidentals for the winter concert. The entire project is a great financial challenge. So far, we have received support from the saxon ministry of culture and tourism as well as the platform 'simply-saxony.com', financing the spring and summer performances. To make the whole of 'TEXTUREN' happen, we will depend on further sponsors, a large audience and many subscribers.
Who are the people behind the project?
Ercole Nisini and the Ensemble Instrumenta Musica, the artist Karin Kopka-Musch, the soprano Heidi Maria Taubert, the vocal ensemble Cappella Mariana Prag, the Kaserne Pirna.
