What is this project all about?
After many trips to various festivals throughout germany, hundreds of concerts and thousands of photos I will finally release my amazing photobook Three Days of Glitter and Mud.
Three Days of Glitter and Mud gives you a direct, uncensored view on festival life. Nothing about the pictures was faked, everything stayed just as ugly or beautiful as it appeared in front of the camera. That is why you will always perceive it as a festival visitor rather than as a journalist. You will explore the complexity and diversity of events, people and music, as different as they could be.
Besides that I shot many different bands and artists such as Roisin Murphy, Jake Isaac or Flume for the book, which will contribute a very special feel to it.
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
Who is my project for?
All of you! It's for every festival lover, canned ravioli
connoisseur, music freak, part time camper and muddy feet out
What could be cooler than bringing the pure, hot and dirty festival feeling directly to your home? Nothing! So hurry up, grab a copy of my book and feel that energy of an incredible festival summer.
This project is also interesting for all you photographers and photography enthusiasts out there. Three Days of Glitter and Mud contains about 150 bright, colorfull and well composed photos, which will definitely make your day.
What is the project goal?
With this book and this project I want to share my adventures, my hangovers, my sunburnt skin and everything else with you. I want to get that great festival feeling to your homes. You should recognize you and your own adventures in my photos, you should have fun, maybe be shocked, but amazed from all those summer vibes.
To realize this project and releasing this book I need your help! I need to raise enough money to pay all the printing and shipping costs to finally be able to share my work with the world.
Why would you support this project?
For me photobooks are the most beautiful medium to share my work with you. The feel of the paper, those prints, the gold embossing and the euphoria before heading to the next page are just priceless. Three Days of Glitter and Mud focuses on the music, the people, and the overall chaos of a music festival. Three Days of Glitter and Mud gives you a direct, uncensored view on festival life. It's gonna be muddy, drunk, bright, flashing, glittery and just amazing. It is pure festival emotions.
Together with my printing lab I sorted out incredible inlay and cover papers to construct an experience beyond just seeing an image.
Oh yeah, there will be free beers for you as well!
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
How will the money be used?
If this project succeeds all the money will directly be used to print and embellish the book as well as prepare all the rewards and specials for you.
What if we raise more money than needed to succeed this project?
If we raise more than 8000€ you will benefit from it. I'll sort out the ultimate festival package for everyone so that none of you won't have to worry about your next festivals.
Who are the people behind the project?
I am Oliver Schweers, a Hamburg based lifestyle and music photographer.
My youth has been full of music, adventures and nights in clubs. I went to my first festival when I was 15 and since then I am in love with the festival culture. I still visit at least about 8 festivals a year and it's never getting boring.
During my project I collaborated with many Festivals such as Rocken am Brocken, Appletree Garden or A Summer‘s Tale, published many photo galleries on different online magazines like It‘s all Indie online mag and also shot the whole Breminale while cooperating with the MS Treue in Bremen.
In Three Days of Glitter and Mud look back at three years full of festivals, many concerts, hangovers, storms, glitter and mud. With this project I want to share my adventures, emotions and my photos with all of you.
