In my studio I am working on the third part of the exhibition "Transformed Circles." After the successful openings in Dresden and in Lanzarote, the exhibition is finally going to New York in the spring of 2017. I am looking forward to every person who would like to be a part of this project and who would like to support it. Anyone simply interested in purchasing extraordinary art at a special price is also welcome here.

What is this project all about?

This project involves the transfer of an idea – balancing the preservation of natural living space with the inevitability of industry and construction. There is an urgent need of a plan that sets the well-being and the future of humanity as a top priority.

Such a plan already exists.
With his manifesto, the artist César Manrique was able to convince key political and business players of his solutions and thus ensured the consistent implementation of his project on his native island of Lanzarote. The fundamental ideas of Manrique’s manifesto are universally applicable and that is the reason why the subject of this exhibition is exactly the idea of a world more livable, for all people.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The first and foremost aim is the professional realization of this third step of the exhibition project in New York. Moreover, we hope and aim to reach as many people as possible with the underlying idea of the project through the exhibition itself and through quality reports about the exhibition. In order to achieve the best results, it is of great importance that the exhibition take place for at least 4 weeks, that a high-quality catalog is produced, that popular media is involved in announcing the exhibition and that we make efficient use of all gallery contacts. The exhibition will take place either in the Salomon Arts Gallery or in the One Art Space Gallery, both located in Manhattan / NYC and both managed by Rodrigo Salomon.

I want to draw attention to Manrique’s manifesto and the successful implementation of his ideas on a small island in the Atlantic Ocean. I want to inspire people to start thinking about possibilities how can the same be achieved in their places of living. It is important to get involved and to fight for a future in which the design of our living spaces is not left to purely economic interests. Money alone should not determine how we live in the future.

This is how I see the exhibition in New York, the center of an economically determined Western world and the center of the arts - an important topic at an important place. To the target group can belong anyone who wants to get involved and contribute to the re-shaping of this world into a better, nature preserving home for all humanity.

Also, all art lovers looking for the opportunity to purchase art at a special price and by purchasing it, to support an issue of importance for all people, are very welcome.

Why would you support this project?

If we reach the funding threshold, we can have a two-week exhibition in the New York gallery. If we secure the full funding target, our goal for a four-week exhibition will be reached.
All of you who join in and support this project will help disseminate the ideas of César Manrique in the world and thus dare to oppose the tendency of commercial interest dominating all levels of our contemporary lives.
Each thank you gift you receive from us is a unique one and there will not be another such artifact manufactured again. Those supporters who would like to can have their names written in the exhibition catalog.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The money will be spent for the necessities of the realization and the implementation of the project such as production, transport, customs, and the insurance of the pieces of art, then the set-up of the exhibition itself, the graphic designer’s and photographer’s fees as well for all other costs in the production of the catalog.
Last but not least there is also the provision for the team of Start Next whose platform enabled us to come so far in the first place.
Upon reaching the funding threshold of 21,000 EUR, we will be able to realize a 14 days exhibition, but our goal is a four weeks exhibition and a high quality catalog. Thus, we are aiming at a 31,000 EUR funding.

Who are the people behind the project?

The initiator of the project is me, Katrin Süss, as an individual and an artist.
But I have been blessed with a wonderful team of supporters, consisting of family and friends. Many thanks to you all and a deep bow, even here and now!
