Walking, and especially walking for health, has become increasingly important and vital during the past few years; it's free, and it improves both physical and mental health. There are not enough books written by women about the transforming power of walking, or about being mindful and aware while walking. I wrote my book after I spent a year walking. Walking helped me to recover from depression after I relocated to Austria from the UK. The English book is currently being read all over the world - from Brazil to New Zealand - providing solace and comfort. Now, my team and I think that it is the perfect time to bring out an edition in German to make it available in Austria, where I wrote the book and German speakers around the world.

My goal is to make walking even more popular and open to everyone and to gain maximum enjoyment from it. The book is a companion for the walker and a manual to help the walker find beauty and be curious about nature – in short - to learn about the alchemy of walking. And as a team, we want to create a network of walkers - The Alchemists - across the world.

The English edition of Walking into Alchemy has helped many people both before and during the lockdown, by allowing them to read about the power of nature and encouraging them to get out and walk and to be mindful.
Only with your support can we bring the book to more people and realise our vision. By supporting this project, you can help us to enrich more lives.

In the first instance, we aim to reach our funding target to pay for the translation of the book into German plus the editing and layout and the printing of 1000 copies. Printing 1,000 copies are much more sustainable, and we will be able to afford to have the books printed at the local printworks in our local city here in Austria.

We can pay fairly for the graphics, typesetting, layout, editing and crowdfunding video. We will also be able to cover our costs for the online shop, warehouse and shipping.

We want to cover our costs during the six months that we have been working on the project.

We have calculated our budget, including all tax duties and fees. We need to achieve our funding goal because we have opted for a sustainable, full-colour, high-quality edition for the printing of the book, and we have chosen only high-quality items for the Goodies produced by local artists and businesses.

If we exceed our target, we would like to bring out audio versions of the book so that walkers can enjoy the book whilst walking.
