It is our heartfelt wish to print and publish our children's book Arved – the Fisher King . The story is about Arved and his family who are on holiday in a little red cottage in Sweden that holds an old secret...
The story is bilingual, in both German and English, as dual-language books for children are no longer just interesting to bilingual families. Especially at a young age, children have the ability to easily learn an additional language: something that is becoming increasingly important in our world of today. With the few bilingual children's books available on the market though, the majority focus on the pedagogical purpose of the books, leaving the magic of an exciting and immersive tale behind. With Arved's adventures it is different. Here you will find a complexly woven, engaging, and beautifully illustrated story where an additional language can be learned on the side.
The book also contains a glossary of the most important words and idioms in swedish, as well as interesting information about the country of Sweden. This makes it an excellent way to get children in the mood for a holiday in Scandinavia, or you can simply take the book along with you.
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
Our goal is to make a colourful high-quality hardcover book for children and print 1,000 copies of it.
Why would you support this project?
Only with your help we can bring Arved to live and make a very special children's book children can follow Arved's adventures in foreign lands and learn an additional language on the side. made in Berlin
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
Without your support, it will not be possible to cover the following costs:
The print We want to print local, eco-friendly and in a high-quality. That costs ca. 4000 EUR for 1000 copies.
The translation Mother tongue is important to learn an additional language. To meet our high standards regarding children's literature we need a professional translator who will cost ca. 1000 EUR.
The editing Our editor helps us to remove mistakes and make our story perfect. For all the time and plenty of meetings she will need 500 EUR.
The illustrations Debby's work, love and commitment to this project can't be measured in money. However as she is living as a freelance illustrator she needs to be paid properly for her wonderful artwork. So with your help we would love to pay her a 1000 EUR so she can finish the lovely illustrations and make the actual book on the computer.
What will happen if more than 6,500 euros is collected?
With the additional money we will invest in an even higher quality binding, advertisement, maybe we can even go to Leipzig bookfair (!!) and of course Arved’s next adventure, in which he is going to the USA!
What will happen if less than 6,500 euros is collected?
The collected money will be placed in a trustee account with Startnext until the end of the crowdfunding campaign. Should we fail to reach our target, you will receive your money back from Startnext directly and without any deductions.
