Sounds of light

Bach 6 Cello Suites, one of the most beautiful works of music, celebrates its 300th birthday. On this occasion I would like to offer a new reading of it and record it in dialogue with 6 new works by some of the most renowned composers of our time. Bongani Ndodana-Breen , Elena Kats Chernin, José Elizondo, Dai Fujikura , Geoffrey Gordon, Eric Tanguy wrote for this project their „Sounds of light" during the Corona lockdown, inspired by the Bach Suites.

The aim of this CD is to create music, which reflects our time, touches and gives joy. It is for everybody who loves music and especially the cello, who are curious to hear music from very different backgrounds and who likes to experience new perspectives on a legendary piece of music.

In all times generous human beings and supporter of the arts had a big impact in the creating of what we today call our cultural treasures, for this great merit they are part of the collective memories . It is even more relevant today, that art lovers and their support enable artists to create.
With the support of this project you enable the publication of never before recorded, fantastic music, which reflects the big challenges of our time, and a genius work, celebrating its 300 birthday, is set a new exciting context and in a new light .

In autumn / winter 2020 the Double CD will be produced in cooperation with the SWR Radio in their studio, in Mai 2021 will be the release, in June 25th 2021 the CD presentation in Berlin Philharmonic hall.
