What is this project all about?

The International J.M. Sperger Competition for Double Bass 2020 had to be postponed due to Covid-19. But we keep going!

We Because we can all use a little extra motivation and fun in these difficult times, we have created the INTERNATIONAL DOUBLE BASS QUARANTINE CHALLENGE for you!

From 15 June to 27 July, we invite you to send us your videos from these "Corona times". A total of 38 jurors from all over the world will nominate the Online winners every week!Show more

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Our goals are motivation and international connection - and of course fun!

The goal is a wonderful and successful music event on the web - with everything that goes with it!

You belong to the target group if you think that classical music is wonderful and stirring and touches the soul, if you are enthusiastic about the double bass and its players!

Why would you support this project?

It was important to us that participation in the International Double Bass Quarantine Challenge is open to everyone. Therefore we do not charge a participation fee.

To cover our costs we need your help! Even an event that takes place entirely online has its costs: the necessary online platform, server storage and the web designer as well as shipping costs for certificates and prizes all over the world.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

From this money we will pay our fantastic webmaster, our costs with the organisation office, the online platform, the extra server storage, the international shipping costs and various services like translations and communication. If there is money left over, we want to help musicians in need.

Who are the people behind the project?

The Quarantine Challenge Team consists of three passionate double bass players who, in "normal" times, organise the International J.M. Sperger Competition for Double Bass together:

Prof. Christine Hoock - artistic director
Michaela Perdacher-Kober - management
Maja Plüddemann - international office

The all-or-nothing crowdfunding was successfully financed and completed
