In March 2013 the lights went out for C/O Berlin in the legendary Postfuhramt in Berlin-Mitte. In Autumn 2014 the internationally renowned art venue will turn the lights back on in a new location – Amerika Haus in Berlin-Charlottenburg. C/O Berlin is financing the interior fittings including air-conditioning and safety features, floor covering, exhibition walls, display cabinets and lighting.

Seit 1958 war das Amerika Haus kulturelle Begegnungsstätte der USA und wurde 2006 dem Land Berlin übergeben. Seit Juli erfolgt der Innenausbau des Amerika Hauses zu einem modernen Ausstellungshaus für Fotografie. Die historische Substanz und filigrane Transparenz des von Bruno Grimmek entworfenen Gebäudes wird behutsam freigelegt und neu strukturiert, um eine optimale Ausstellungssituation für C/O Berlin zu schaffen. Im Vergleich zum bisherigen Standort, dem Postfuhramt, erhöht sich die Fläche von C/O Berlin im Amerika Haus um rund 20 Prozent auf 2300 Quadratmeter. Zudem erweitert C/O Berlin sein Angebot mit einem Café und einem größeren Book Shop.
