In Instituto Andalusí you learned Spanish, you made a lot of friends, you enjoyed the culture and the spanish food. We welcomed a lot of you when you were young and you came back later, as adults. Others met the love of their life in our school, they got married and they had children, the future students of Instituto Andalusí!
You learned how to make paella, a spanish tortilla and much more. In this moment we don’t know how to go on with our business, our sales have decreased of 90% since March 2020.
We haven’t been having any kind of income for 11 month and, unfortunately, the help promised by the government hasn’t arrived yet. Our entire team is not working and is receiving unemployment benefit until the end of February 2021 but we don’t know if this money will be guaranteed after that date. Right when the high season was approaching during last March, we had to close the school due to the lockdown and cancel our courses, but now the money is finishing.
When, on the 1st July 2020, we reopened the school, our big hope was to continue. However, our hope eroded when Spain was classified as risky zone and all the bookings from August until now have been cancelled. Nevertheless, we don’t want to give up on our welcoming and familiar school and we want to fight to keep it opened. While we are looking for a solution, we have been told about a crowdfunding and, after many nights sleepless, I (Rita) have decided to go on with this project. There is no other way to save the school and its existence and we can keep it opened only with your help.
