How to spot superheroes? Easy - they are wearing our cape! The self-luminous LED lights make your child visible to other road users from a distance of up to 400 m. Meaning they are visible 3x earlier than while wearing a conventional safety vest, where the reflective material on the vest, is only visible if the child is directly illuminated by an external light source, such as a headlight of a car. We protect children from dangerous situations in traffic and make them look like superheroes.
Our goal is to make children visible in traffic and to protect them from dangerous situations. We have developed a product that makes children visible to other road users a lot earlier. It's smarter than conventional safety vests - safer, more child-friendly and cooler.
What makes the heyReflect LED Cape special?
Our cape is special because it is ... Beautifully luminous: The bright LEDs make your child visible to other road users from a distance of up to 400 m. That is 3 times earlier than conventional safety vests. Unlike reflective vests, your child will also be seen in traffic even if they are not directly illuminated by an external light source, such as a headlight of a car. Child-friendly, durable and suitable for everyday use: Children should behave like children. They should run, roam around, climb and get dirty. Due to the high quality, the cape can handle it all. The cape can be pulled on easily, independently and without help. Bad weather and rain is totally fine with the cape, just pop it into the washing machine and the cape is as good as new. Sustainable battery case: The bright LEDs are powered though rechargeable batteries. That means you have no follow-up costs due to environmentally unfriendly batteries. A bonus for nature and your wallet! After 8-10 hours of active use, you simply recharge the battery with the supplied charging cable. Certified by professionals: Tests by independent certification bodies are very time-consuming and expensive. But it is our top priority to have the professionals on board when it comes to safety. That is why our capes are currently being certified in the TÜV Rheinland laboratory.
As individual as your child: The cape will be available in three sizes, three colours and with many different patches.
Sizes: S, M and L (clothing sizes EU / DE 86-146)
Colours: yellow / yellow; yellow / peach pink; yellow / petrol green
Patches: whale, rainbow, fire department, unicorn, rocket, penguin
You will be able to choose the right size, your desired colour and the patch your child thinks is cool after our campaign is terminated on startnext. We will contact you by email.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?
We want to save lives!
1. Our goal is to make people more visible in traffic in order to protect them from dangerous situations - especially the most vulnerable road users, children! 2. We want to contribute to reducing the number of accidents. 3. We want to develop additional safety products that help keep all road users safe. 4. We want other to share in our success. There are families who would also benefit from our products but cannot afford them. Therefore, we have partnered up with Westwind Hamburg e.V.
We are still at the beginning of our journey and want to do so much more. With your support you help us achieve our goals and help us to protect people in traffic.
Our target group are mothers, fathers, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, godmothers, godfathers, friends, friends, friendly people who want to help other... is there someone we have forgotten? Oh yes, of course the little ones themselves, because most children love our capes ;-)
Why would you support this project?
Because we have a solution to a real problem! 800,000 people have road accidents in Germany every year - 30,000 of them are children under 15 years of age. Meaning an accident occurs every 18 minutes on average. Lack of visibility is one of the main reasons for accidents, which is why good visibility is essential for accident prevention.
Because we have a product that is unique and better! Conventional safety vests have reflective strips. That is already good, but they only reflect back when they are illuminated by a light source such as car headlights. Then they reflect back at a distance of about 140m. back. The LEDs are self-illuminating and visible from up to 400 m, i.e. 3x earlier!
Because we have developed a product for children, in cooperation with children! In order to develop the new LED high visibility cape, we went to plaxes where our actual customers are. Elementary schools, kindergarten and playgrounds. We talked little, listened a lot, and encouraged children to share their thoughts with us. With a backpack full of ideas, we went back to our desks and developed the LED high visibility cape for months. Prototypes were put through their paces, not only by us, but of course also by our young inventors.
Because we play it safe! Tests by independent certification bodies are very time-consuming and expensive. But it is our top priority to have the professionals on board when it comes to safety. That is why our capes are currently being certified in the TÜV Rheinland laboratory.
Because children know what they want ... and what they don't! Traditional safety vests are bulky, look boring and slip easily. Most children are not big fans. Even if their parents insist that the children put them on, they are of no use to anyone if they are taken off again on the next street corner and disappear in their backpacks. Because the capes can be personalized, have a cool LED function and do not disturb children in everyday life, the children themselves are often the biggest fans of the capes.
Because we want to share our success! In crowdfunding we would like to offer the opportunity to donate capes to the non-profit organization WestWind Hamburg e.V. People who cannot afford bicycles for themselves and their children can turn to WestWind. When we reach our second funding goal, we will donate the same number of capes that have been donated by our supporters until then (apart from the 100x Cape donation package).
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
When the funding target is reached, we issue the production order and can do our part to protect your children on the road. If we achieve our second funding goal, we will double the number of capes that you donated to the non-profit organization Westwind Hamburg e.V. by the end of the campaign (excluding the 100x donation) Because whoever is successful should give something back!
Who are the people behind the project?
Hey, we are Lisa and Julia, and we live in beautiful northern Germany.
Julia studied computer science and has a love for volleyball and books. She has found her home port in Hamburg, where she is passionate about reading in cafés, working in them or looking for the best chocolate cake in town. Lisa studied entrepreneurship and is the mother of two children. She loves crafts and DIY projects. Otherwise she likes to spend time by the sea with her feet in the sand, no matter what time of year. We still have a lot to do with heyReflect and are just at the beginning of the heyReflect's journey. But of course we wouldn't be here without our large, colorful crew of supporters. Starting with our loyal customers: with their warm praise and honest feedback, they constantly encourage us to become even better. You are great!!! Our product designer, graphic artist, video and photographer, brand ambassador and sparing partner who implement our wishes and ideas with a lot of passion and patience. And our family and friends: who support and carry us even when the challenges of a start-up pull our strength and drain our last nerve. Thank you!
