We would like to translate "Iceland: A Stormy Motorcycle Adventure" from English to German. .
The book blurb:
Active volcanoes, glaciers, rivers without bridges and killer sheep - Iceland offers the kind of riding that motorcycle adventure dreams are made of. Ignoring the lack of off road skills in one half of the partnership, Patrick and Sherrie set off on a 6 week journey from Germany to Iceland and back in the summer of 2010. Riding their two BMW F 650 GS (Betty and Wilma) they fell in love with the island and its stunning scenery. Surviving hospitalization, sand, sunk bikes and perhaps most frightening of all, lack of good affordable food, Iceland stole a piece of both their hearts. The only drawback: they wish they had had more time.
Help us fund the translation!
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
The project goal is 600 Euro and will go directly to Robert, the translator of the book. Its an absolute friendship price and anything that goes over this goal is also going towards Robert.
Why would you support this project?
Because you love Iceland and/or motorcycle adventure travels and you want a German version of this book! Or you love Iceland and/or motorcycle adventures and you want an English version of this book. Instead of buying it direct from Smashwords or Amazon you can purchase a copy here and help fund the German translation. You also help a new translator get his start.
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
If we reach our minimum request (600 euro) the entire amount will go to our translator as will any extra earned. Robert is doing this at a rock bottom price to help build his resume and get his start.
Who are the people behind the project?
We are Unleash Your Adventure, a small publisher run by Sherrie McCarthy and Patrick Schweizer. Traveling is a big part of our lives and we share our stories in our books and on our blog. But what we really hope to achieve is not only to entertain you with travel stories but to inspire you to live your own dream.
Robert Scholz will translate our ebook. He studied literature and art at the Martin-Luther University of Halle. He lived for a while in Edinburgh, Scotland. Robert himself is a huge fan of traveling and Iceland. He is looking forward to this project to spread a great travel story from one of the most fascinating motorcycle destinations world wide. Currently he is working in Berlin as a freelance author and translator.
