What is this project all about?
The Mailfriends website (http://www.mailfriends.us) exists for many years, and it is developed and maintained by one single person, namely me. The community reached over 75,000 members from all over the world, and in all age groups. It offers free mediation of pen pals and email friends, and is among the most popular websites in this area.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?
The objectives
The objective is to develop a new version of the site, one that ensures that in the future, the operational costs will be covered, reducing the dependency on income from advertisements. My new development, as well as additional functions, are designed to offer better incentives to obtain a paid membership, which will ensure the Mailfriends financing.

I know that many current members appreciate my work a lot – however, many of them are unfortunately not in the position to support me financially in the planned project. How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
The new concept includes a lot of innovations and changes, to improve Mailfriends and ensure its future. It was developed in cooperation with members, friends and other consultants from different areas, and all participants considered it to be well-designed and sustainable.

Who are the people behind the project?
I studied media design, and work as a software developer (for the Web). Since I am the cheapest work force, I will gladly continue in this area as my regular work, and mainly take care of programming the Mailfriends site.
For some jobs, specialists are required – in this case, I definitely want to get competent assistance (for example in the area of specific techniques and for server administration).
