What is this project all about?
We look back at two very successful Main Matsuri Festivals in 2018 and 2019 based on the model of Japanese summer festivals. Our vision is to introduce the cultural diversity of Japan with music, new and old Japanese cuisine and lifestyle to a broad audience with great enthusiasm. What is the project goal and who is the project for?
With the Main Matsuri we offer a platform for everyone interested in Far Eastern culture in general and Japanese culture in particular.
With this big Japanese summer festival with lots of fun, high-quality entertainment and good Japanese food, we promote and strengthen understanding and friendships with one another.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
Due to the cancelled festival, we do not have the corresponding income to cover the running costs. We also don't have the financial means to organise the Main Matsuri 2021. Despite immediate aid from the state and support from loyal sponsors, it is unfortunately not enough at the moment to make it safely into the next year. Who are the people behind the project?
Main Matsuri Event GmbH is behind the festival with a small, highly motivated team. Together we have already organised the Main Matsuri in 2018 and 2019 and successfully implemented it together with our numerous committed helpers. We all come from different backgrounds and age groups, but we all share one great passion: Japan!
