What is this project all about?
Since its opening in 1990, Molotow Club has been an important part of Hamburg's music scene. Now we are facing a big problem: we have to move for the third time! After our original home in the Essohäuser was demolished in 2014, we first found a home in Holstenstraße and then here on Nobistor for 10 years. What is the project goal and who is the project for?
Molotow is more than just a venue - it is a true institution in Hamburg and far beyond. In its long tradition as an indie and alternative music venue with over 30 years of history, it has brought together generations of music fans who have experienced great concert and party nights there. Why would you support this project?
Molotow Club is always a place for new music. Over 200 concerts take place here every year, many of them small concerts with bands that later make an international career, but also with local bands. The venue is also home to numerous different concert series and festivals such as the Garageville Festival, Get Lost Fest, Reeperbahn Festival and Weltturbojugendtage. How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
The funds we raise through this campaign will be used for the move and conversion of our new location and to pay our team during this time. Every Euro we raise above the absolute minimum will be put directly into the program and will help us to offer as many not yet commercially successful bands as possible a place to perform in this difficult year and to organize just as exciting concerts in the new venue as before. Who are the people behind the project?
Behind Molotow Club is a vibrant community of many different people: A large and dedicated team, promoters, bands, guests, labels, music fans and real nerds from all over the world - all united by a passion for good music and free, creative culture. This campaign is run directly by Molotow Club. All funds raised will go towards supporting and maintaining the venue, which has become a true home for many.
