I'm a 45 year old learned joiner and ex-banker. After decades in finance, I quit my job to nurse my mother for two years. It's preposterous to reason that care-work qualifies as work if and only if it's not your next-of-kin you're looking after. It's preposterous that we live in such abundance and are afraid of poverty at the same time. It's time to show more confidence!
