The earth lies waste, clean air no longer exists. Dense smog darkens the sky. Everyday life is determined by wearing a breathing mask, as well as a heavy oxygen tank. People work in factories to be paid with oxygen. This is also the case for Gahl. Since his father has been confined to a wheelchair since an accident at work, he has to help care for him. When his oxygen is stolen, he must decide how far he would go to save himself and his father.
In the world of [T]OXYGEN, you need breathing masks and an oxygen tank to survive. The people have to earn the oxygen first by hard work in the factories as a wage. Of course, this raises the question of whether humanity and morality have a place in such a daily struggle for survival. This is exactly what we want to find out with the implementation of [T]OXYGEN.
The goal is to immerse cineastes with a love of the dystopian in a dense, gloomy but equally fascinating atmosphere. In the style of films like Metropolis, Dark City and Blade Runner.
The film is only possible through your support. Whether financially or just by sharing the campaign, you help us to realize our film.
[T]OXYGEN takes current issues of environmental and air pollution and exaggerates them into a dystopian film scenario.
Inspired by the architecture of theWeltkulturerbe Völklinger Hütte, we create an independent visual language in which futuristic elements merge with the aesthetics of industrialization. With our previous resources, we were already able to create a set, as well as first prototypes and props, which were used for the teaser.
In order to tell the story in full length and this unique atmosphere, we rely on your support.
- Basic supplies for the team (travel, catering, accommodation)
- Rent for technical equipment, transport vehicles, etc.
- Production of the required props
- Production of the outfits
- Postproduction, visual effects
With 10,000 € we are able to tell the story visually, as well as make the props needed for it.
From 15,000 € we can realize the film in full, without having to cut back. More elaborate scenes can now be shot in full.
[T]OXYGEN is a project of the heart. Our entire cast and crew work for free. Nevertheless, we generate a gigantic mountain of costs during the shooting.
The most important point here is the supply of the team. This includes accommodation, catering, travel and fuel expenses over the 14 days of filming.
The second important point concerns the technical equipment. We have access to most of the technical equipment through the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar, as well as through our co-producer Spektrum Film Hessen UG, but we will not be able to avoid borrowing external film equipment and transport vehicles.
We will also need budget for visual effects in post-production.
