Die mit einem spätromantischen Werk beginnende Reise zeichnet einen Weg durch die träumerische, spielerische und ironische Überarbeitung stilistischer Eigenschaften aus dem Fin de siècle, führt weiter zur Schönberg’schen revolutionären Ablehnung, um schließlich zu den nostalgisch kauzigen Ruinen eines Jörg Widmann zu gelangen.
