Ercole Nisini has appeared as a soloist and leader with his ensemble Instrumenta Musica in such famous festivals and concert halls as Dresden's Frauenkirche, The Lower Saxony Musiktagen, The Black Forest Music Festival, The Rheingau Festival, The Sklholt Island Summer Concert, The Heinrich Schütz Musikfest, The Brandenburg Summer Concerts, The WDR Radio Concerts in Cologne, The Regensburg Tage Alter Musik, The German Trombone Symposium and others. Additionally, he was interviewed by Switzerland's Radio SFR and Germany's WDR Radio. Concerts, performances and recordings throughout Europe, with groups such as La Petite Bande, Orchestre des Champs Élysées, Musica Fiata further document his musical abilities. The center of Ercole's artistic activities is performances for solo and chamber repertoire for the trombone, from the Renaissance to the modern era. Performed on historically-advised instruments with special regards to the study of playing techniques required by the repertoire of each era.
After receiving his degree in Trombone Performance from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, Ercole continued his studies in Classical Trombone with Professor Abbie Conant at the Musikhochschule in Trossingen, 2001. He added the Study of Historical Performance Practice in 2006, at the same school, with Professor Wim Becu. In 1999 he was one of 20 chosen to be performers at trombonist Joe Alessi's Seminar in New York, Mr. Alessi is from New York's Philharmonic. He also undertook regular lessons in England and Italy with London Symphony's Denis Wick.
In 2001, Ercole won by audition, the position of second and acting solo trombone with the Orchestra Sinfonica in Milan, under the direction of Riccardo Chailly. Other successful auditions and substitute positions followed with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale Della Rai in Turin, Orchestra del Teatro Regio in Turin, Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna and The Süddeutschen Philharmonie in Konstanz. All of these positions have enhanced his career as a trombonist.
In addition to numerous recordings with prominent European ensembles, Ercole's discography has grown readily as both director and soloist since 2008. His latest project seeks to showcase the trombone as a solo instrument throughout music history, Renaissance, Baroque, Classic and Romantic, in a series of four CDs with the Querstand label. Also each CD will be accompanied by his own editions of music for the trombone, published by Velagsgruppe Kamprad.
