What is this project all about?

With every piece that we add to our wardrobe, we in a way shape our own brand. Because you are what you wear.

Many fashion-conscious people would like to dress individually and chic without polluting the environment. But it's hard to find unique clothing that does both.

I felt the same way. I've always had a penchant for fancy clothes and designer pieces. The beige organic cotton shirt and dress with a simple cut were far too boring for me.

My enthusiasm for upcycling fashion arose during my fashion design studies. To save on fabric, I decided to make a sample out of an old faded bed sheet. The result was a blouse in various shades of pink - this transformation completely fascinated me!

Since then, I have been making unique pieces from used clothing and leftover fabric. For example, the 70s curtain becomes a winter coat, the worn-out silk tie becomes an evening dress, and the children's snow suit becomes a padded shoulder bag.

Each Amaran Creative piece is unique - just like every person is unique. Retro inspired cuts and striking details make each piece unmistakable.

With Amaran Creative unique pieces, you not only make a fashion statement, you also make a statement against wasting resources and and protecting the environment!

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Fashion-concious women of all ages. Fashion addicts who love extraordinary and edgy clothes but also would like to shop sustainable.

Why would you support this project?

The fashion industry emits about the same amount of greenhouse gas per year as the entire economy of France, Germany, and the UK combined (McKinsey & Co, Fashion on Climate 2020). In Europe, 5.8 million tons of clothing are thrown away every year. 75 percent of these clothes end up in landfills. In times when environmental protection and the fight against climate change are some of the most important issues, the previous system of making clothes has become UNSUSTAINABLE!

The fashion industry emits more CO2 every year than all long-haul flights and maritime shipping combined. Why not start right here and change something? That is exactly my belief. With my label AMARAN CREATIVE, I not only want to help the environment by saving old fabrics and clothes from the garbage and produce locally, I also want to make a clear statement with my clothes. To use my fashion as an instrument of public criticism - contribute to the debate. I want to show that sustainably produced fashion can be fun and even brings added value. Bring back a certain exclusivity and uniqueness to the fashion world with my unique pieces. Values that have been lost in recent decades through mass production and fast fashion.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

Turning an idea into a company takes passion, skill, time, and certain entrepreneurial qualities. Qualities that I possess; otherwise, I would not have achieved so much in the last 2 years!

Now I've come to a point where I need support. Above all, personnel support on the production side. With the money I earn from Startnext, I want to hire a seamstress to help me make my unique pieces.

With your investment, not only will you help me make more upcycled clothes and rescue old clothes and fabrics from the garbage, but you will also help someone find work locally and promote art and local textile production.

Who are the people behind the project?

AMARAN CREATIVE, that's me: Sinah Schlemmer.

It has always been my biggest motivation in life to inspire people. Whether as a stage dancer, marketing manager, artist, or businesswoman. That is still my motivation as a fashion designer: inspiring people with unusual and sustainable fashion.

On the one hand, my strength is my creativity. My design ideas give my unique pieces their unmistakable look. On the other hand, my strengths lie primarily in the area of marketing and sales, but also in organisation and management. By combining these strengths and international experience in different situations and business settings, it is easy for me to work with people from different areas and cultures and to lead a company successfully.

Together with partners like Gernot Kallweit Grafik Design, FAIRMODEL Model Agency, Johanna Link Fashion Photography, Mesenholl TV&Film Production, and many others, I am well positioned to continue growing.

Ich finde Unternehmen sollten ihrer sozio-ökonomischen Verantwortung nachkommen! Dazu gehört für mich auch lokale Arbeitsplätze zu schaffen!
This project has been awarded by the Startnext VI Vielfaltoskop.

Mesenholl TV

Daniel and Sascha accompanied me with their cameras for almost a whole year! The videos and films they shoot are very high quality. And the two are also amazingly brilliant. Thanks for your support guys!

Kallweit Design

This creative old man with a young heart is one of my biggest fans! Gernot Kallweit helps me where he can. Whether with graphic design or rescuing 20,000 ties that would have ended up in the garbage otherwise! Thank you Gernot!

Recent Press

The press took notice of me in my first year of business. Through various projects such as the upcycling exhibition in the b-05 Montabaur and my reforestation project, I received continuous interviews and press inquiries.

Oxfam Germany

The cooperation between Oxfam Germany and AMARAN CREATIVE started in July last year. Unique items were made exclusively for Oxfam from unsold second-hand textiles from Oxfam shops and sold for the benefit of the development organization.

Artyom Pavlovskiy

I met Artyom in May 2022. His mother was in my studio and showed me his drawings. I was immediately struck by his style and talent! So it came about that we started a joint project: hand-painted pilot shirts.
