Documentary on indigenous education in Bahía, Brazil.
Critical reflection of western education practice.
Our society is influenced by economic growth which leads to a pressure to achieve for individuals. More and more young people become alienated from their own potentials and passions. „Arupãb“ means „education“ in the indigenous Pataxó language. For centuries, the Pataxó people have cultivated practical learning. Children learn self-motivated without compulsion. We document how this practice affects the personal development of people and encourage critical reflection of our education practice.
