We rely on natural electrolytes from baobab and coconut water. BAOWOW Hydration is the first natural isotonic thirst quencher with directly traded organic ingredients. Your funding contributes to the income of about 3,500 families in rural Zimbabwe.

What is this project all about?
"Make sports drinks great again!" & do something good
Do away with sweeteners, aromas, and flavour enhancers, replace them with natural ingredients from organic cultivation and direct trade. Nature gives us the perfect ingredients:
- Organic coconut water
- Organic baobab powder
- Organic coconut blossom sugar
Together with professionals from triathlon sports and nutritional scientists, we have developed an isotonic beverage powder. It gives you valuable electrolytes in the form of minerals, as well as the energy you need for sports!
Trade for Africa!
We get the baobab powder for BAOWOW Hydration directly from Zimbabwe. There, some 3,500 families can improve their income by selling baobab fruits. Farmers gain access to the global market via a local producer. At the same time, harvesting and trade are carried out under ecologically sustainable, socially, and ethically correct circumstances. We find this is applied development cooperation.

Direct Trade - Trade for Africa
We buy the baobab powder from direct fair trade from Zimbabwe.
We know the producers personally. By selling baobab powder, farmers can increase their income and, for example, pay the school fees for their children. By supporting our project, you are helping to bring a directly traded product to the market.
You're not only doing something good for yourself, but for others too.
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
Funding will be used for purchasing raw materials.
After successful financing, we can buy the raw materials for BAOWOW Hydration and commission production for the packaging.
Then it takes approx. 6 weeks until we can present you with the finished product.
Who are the people behind the project?
The BO Berlin Organics GmbH company is carrying out the project. Since 2015, Berlin Organics has been selling organic superfoods via organic food trade. Berlin Organics strives to obtain as much of the raw material as possible from direct trading. Berlin Organics was founded by Klaas Koolman, and since January 2017 Carolin Luhnen has been on board.
Carolin Luhnen
Carolin is Head of Marketing at Berlin Organics. The business economist and economics psychologist graduate changed "sides" after a corporate career to pursue her passion at Berlin Organics in an organic startup with social and ethical demands. The mother of two children also provides pro-bono consulting for social business clients.
Klaas Koolman
Klaas has a degree in business and is founder and CEO of Berlin Organics. After several years at an international electronics company, Klaas founded Berlin Organics in 2015 with the objective of combining contemporary organic food and direct trade. Klaas was interested in herbal dietary supplements long before they became popular under the term "superfoods". His personal interest in healthy and natural food flows into the products at Berlin Organics. Klaas gets his inspiration from his travels, among other things. He bought Baobab powder for the first time a few years ago on the roadside in Zimbabwe.
