„UDAAN – an inspiring journey to India“ is a Bollywood musical project that blends German and Indian culture, explaining a story about love, the search for identity and the passion to make a dream come true. UDAAN presents a great variety of dances, contemporary and traditional, Indian and Western, all molded into the colorful setting of an inspiring Bollywood musical show.

What is this project all about?

There is an artist in every person. This project is all about bringing out the artist in us.
Passion and love for the Art is the main motivation behind the project. Believing in this idea are over hundred artists, working hard to make it come true.This project is all about creating a healthy environment of art, bridging cultures through this Indian Bollywood Musical production.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Creating something unique, and to bring joy and happiness to the people through performing arts.
A musical that will build bridges between people and cultures. This applies for the cast, the music and the story of UDAAN. We believe in a society that is open and gets enriched by the different cultural backgrounds.
This project is for everybody who enjoys dance and inspiration.
Taking this musical to different places, after our premiere in Munich, is also one of the goals.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The funds will be spent for covering part of production cost, which includes: rehearsal rooms renting, costume making, payment for technicians and artists, constructing the stage background, etc.
We also need to advertise this event. So, we will print posters, launch a new website, and marketing for social media ad's.
All the funds will go into making UDAAN a musical worth your support.

Who are the people behind the project?

Behind UDAAN are over hundred dedicated dancers, choreographers, actors and stage designers.
D4Dance Germany, the dancing group that is the heart of this project, was founded by Pavan Prasad. He is the creative head of UDAAN as writer, choreographer and director. With over 20 years of experience in Indian dance, which consists of 15 years of experience in choreography, Pavan Prasad' vision is the driving force for this project.

Margret Hafendörfer is the main organizer and coordinator of this project. With a background in business administration and many years of working for international companies, she is also the initiator of this crowd funding project.
