(c)ovid's metamorphoses

The world is a web with which we can create new myths!

I conceived of an international art project in the first 'big lockdown' last year, and will organize and curate it in the following months with the Frankfurt sound artist Lasse-Marc Riek. The project is called '©ovid's metamorphoses,' and is based on the idea of the 'broken telephone game.' In the style of 'Covid-19' we will play 19 rounds, with a total of 133 international artists* from the fields of film, sound, text, and photography (check the 'Wall' for a list of all contributors)

What is this project all about?

The international participants come from the arts: from literature, music, video art, sound art and photography. They are the actors, but it is their practice that gives shape to the forces and makes them tangible: the real agents are the transmission channels. The transmission paths, the infection paths between the hosts, the artists, are more than just a structure, and the mutations that run across them in the process are the real creators; the artists, once infected, do "their thing" – the metamorphoses happen in transmission, and our project makes them audible, visible, tangible.
©Ovid's Metamorphoses creates series, it processes transformations in which what is said and meant is transformed through the media, text into image, image into sound, sound into thought, thought into form, form into substance and back again.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Goal: a modest honorarium for the participating artists.
Target group: everyone interested in art, music, film, and text!

Because these great contributions must see the light of day! Almost 150 international artists will make this work of art possible!
