In der „Quiet Zone“ gibt es kein Wlan, kein Radio- oder Handyempfang, nicht mal technische Geräte dürfen in nächster Nähe des riesigen Radioteleskops genutzt werden. Die Zone ist auch Zufluchtsort für Menschen, die von elektronischen Signalen in Städten krank geworden sind. Für einige ist die Quiet Zone der einzige Ort, an dem sie noch leben können. Alle halten sich an die Regeln und nutzen keine Technik, alle bis auf Einen.
