Was ist es, was uns Menschen antreibt, nicht aufzugeben? Wie schaffen wir es, unseren Träumen nachzugehen, wenn alle Zeichen dagegenstehen? 1979 reist der Regisseur Werner Herzog in den südamerikanischen Dschungel, um den Film Fitzcarraldo zu drehen. Wir bedienen uns Werner Herzogs Tagebuchaufzeichnungen, um über Aufopferung für und Grenzen von Träumen nachzudenken. Das Geld aus dieser Kampagne dient der unmittelbaren Existenzsicherung der Beteiligten während der Probenzeit.
