Give a Musician his Voice Back

Help a young musician have his destroyed instrument restored. Send a sign of hope in difficult times.

The main guitar of the young Slovak guitarist Adam Marec was badly damaged during a concert trip to Spain. The airline, Iberia, has refused to pay the costs. Please help us bring his instrument back to life!

What is this project all about?

What is a fine musician without his instrument! Adam Marec earns his living with concerts and lessons through his classical guitar. You can see his talents for yourself: visit www.adammarec.com
The airline (Iberia, case number: P20180424-00411538) has denied any responsibility even though it is clearly guilty. The guitar was packed in an IKA fiberglass case that can withstand about 100kg of load. This suitcase is also no longer usable.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Repairing the damaged guitar requires replacing the soundboard so that it can be used again for concerts.
This is the main goal and would be a great success!!

If we achieve a surplus, we want to develop and implement a usable prototype with a detachable neck. The plans for this have begun.
In this respect, other musicians can also benefit from this in the future.

Why would you support this project?

Adam has been without his main guitar since the accident and has to play on borrowed guitars. Due to the Corona crisis, he has no concert income, so he is not able to pay the repair costs. In addition, there is unfortunately no musician insurance in Slovakia that would compensate for this damage. That is why we are hereby addressing the musician and guitar community.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

We will renew the guitar's Double Top. The costs of the repair, including materials and finish, are 3500,-€. We will afterwords do some concerts and recordings with it. See the offered rewards. A new guitar flightcase must also be purchased. (500,-€)
Furthermore in the second step we would develop a concept for a full-fledged concert instrument with a detachable neck and produce a prototype that can be carried in hand luggage. This should then also be offered regularly and be available for ordering for every customer.

Who are the people behind the project?

We are Adam Marec and the guitar studio Daniel Stark. The musician asked me to implement the crowd financing. The idea basically arose from a facebook campaign with which we tried to put pressure on the airline. The post has been shared more than 150 times by the fb-community and heavily commented on!
