Wir, das iGEM Team der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin wollen mit der Mikroalge Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Mikroplastik abbauen.

Die weltweite Umweltverschmutzung durch Plastik wird zunehmend zu einer Herausforderung für die Menschheit. Wir als Team wollen dieses Problem bekämpfen, indem wir die Süßwasseralge Chlamydomonas reinhardtii so modifizieren, dass sie den meistverbreiteten Kunststoff, Polyethylenterephtalat (PET), umweltfreundlich recyclen kann. Wir sagen Mikroplastik den Kampf an!

Die ersten 1000 Euro sollen dafür eingesetzt werden uns zu unterstützen, sodass wir unser Plastikrecycling-Projekt beim iGEM-Wettbewerb anmelden können.
