Design Wallets from Kyrgyzstan

It's about everyday life on two continents: With our practical wallets we want to make your day more beautiful. And with your support we will give craftspeople halfway around the world, in Kyrgyzstan, a more steady income, health insurance and opportunities to realize themselves.

Our designer Jonas Görtz has worked together with leather master Artur Sedrakian to come up with a total of ten different wallet designs. The inspiration lay in using exclusively natural materials to create flat, practical wallets for all everyday situations - and they made it!


With your support we can now establish the wallets as KANCHA's second line of products. Each wallet is handcrafted from genuine leather and quality wool felt. Based on our philosophy of social impact we source as many raw materials as possible locally, pay above-average wages and insure all craftspeople through our health fund.

Everyone who is always on the go and at home anywhere. KANCHA makes handcrafted accessories for urban nomads - things that you need and which look great. And they last a long time, too!

With each Euro of funding our social impact will increase. Improving the ecological footprint at our suppliers, decentralization of our production to rural areas, setting up a social business incubator in Kyrgyzstan are our goals for the future. We have a lot of plans and now is the time to get them kickstarted!

With your support you enable a lot more than the production of a functional accessory. When you take the KANCHA wallet into your hand, you have also given our craftspeople the opportunity to take their own future into their hands. Which is as good as it sounds!

Since our beginnings one year ago we have already been able to give seven craftspeople work in the production of leather-and-felt accessories. With your support we'll be able to give them more work opportunities, train even more craftspeople and move ahead on our social impact agenda.

3,000 EUR is the minimum we're aiming for. They'll be used entirely for the production of the KANCHA wallets, split into the following amounts:

1,200 EUR product development and production of up to 200 wallets

800 EUR leather for up to 200 wallets

400 EUR felt for up to 200 wallets

600 EUR coordination, transport, video production, etc.

To reach a point where we can develop even more KANCHA accessories for Urban Nomads, and to give a clear vote of confidence to our craftspeople, we want to reach even further. So, if we reach a total funding amount of...

...5,000 EUR co-founder Tobi will play on a Russian Garmoshka while co-founder Sebastian will be rapping an exclusive song for our crowd!

... 7,500 EUR co-founder Tobias will spend a day as a shepherd in the Kyrgyz highlands and document that experience on video in our blog.

...10,000 EUR we'll set up a traditional Kyrgyz yurt in Berlin and invite all supporters for a plov and tea.
