KAYA - THE ROCK AND THE SEA tells a story about my father and me. In Berlin, where we both grew up, as well as in Baba's old home Turkey and my chosen home Barcelona, we take a look at our relationship and explore how it developed over the years. Our different understanding of freedom once tore us apart but over time it helped us find common ground. After all, we are both searching for our place in this world: in our family, in society, and within ourselves.

Gerd Ruge Stipendium

Die Film- und Medienstiftung NRW rief 2002 das Gerd Ruge Stipendium unter Vorsitz von Journalist und Dokumentarfilmer Gerd Ruge ins Leben. Mit dem Stipendium bekommen junge Filmemacher die Möglichkeit, innerhalb von 18 Monaten einen qualitativ hochwertigen Kino-Dokumentarfilm zu entwickeln.

Online-Magazin AVIVA

Seit Februar 2000 ist das Online-Magazin AVIVA-Berlin im Netz. Ein Medium, das frauenspezifische Themen jenseits von Brigitte und ihren Freundinnen beleuchtet. Von Sharon Adler "am Küchentisch gegründet", wird AVIVA-Berlin heute von einem großen Team freier Journalistinnen, Grafikerinnen, Programmie

Newa Film

Newa Film wurde Ende 2008 von Zülfiye Akkulak mit dem Sitz in Berlin gegründet. Die Firma hat sich die Produktion künstlerisch anspruchsvoller Spiel- und Dokumentarfilme zum Ziel gesetzt. Dabei ist sie sowohl in Deutschland als auch international tätig. Newa Film produziert nun auch KAYA!
