Our Film Music: Peter Ehwald and Ensemble ~su

With happy inspiration we are presenting our film music: Peter Ehwald and Ensemble ~su. Su means 'Water' in Korean. Water - this is the kind of music Hyo-Jin Shin and Bo-Sung Kim are making: Water is tiny quiet drops, water is huge loud waves, „it has the power to blow up rocks (...) you can see yourself and its environment in the water mirror. Water sounds in a hundred different ways – as single drops or together with wind, waves and rocks. Water is incredibly rhythmical.“, the musicians say (http://www.korientation.de/2013/09/12/ensemble-su-mit-ehwald/)

We chose their music as Jazz saxophinst Peter Ehwald and the Seoul-born Berliners Hyo-Jin and Bo-Sung let culture background flow into each other. Their mixture of Gug-Ak (classical Korean music), Mu-Ak (traditional shamanic Korean music), Jazz, Samulnori (Korean traditional percussion) and contemporary improvised music is creating contexts beyond the categories of east-west and traditional and modern world.

Thank you, Bo-Sung, Hyo-Jin and Peter for your waves and drops, your surfing and diving. Your music goes hand in hand with the depth of funniness that HOW ABOUT HAVING A FASCINATION OF MIND is seeking to explore.

Eure Musik geht Hand in Hand mit der Tiefe von Lustigkeit, den HOW ABOUT HAVING A FASCINATION OF MIND erkunden will.
