What is this project all about?

In October 2012 me and my wife Cordula launched the independent peace initiative My Face For Peace. We invited people to give face to their wish for global peace by uploading their portrait and a statement on our website www.myfaceforpeace.org.
We believe that peace will never be achieved by force of arms.
The road to peaceful coexistence is a process that starts in each one of us first. We need to create peace in our own hearts, then we will find peace in the world. The basis for this is a conscious decision to take responsibility for our own thoughts, feelings and our daily actions. In this spirit, we invite the participants of our peace campaign to start their personal peace process. Wonderful photos and comments, as well as poems, lyrics and essays have reached us since then. First we want to publish these messages of peace in a PEACE BOOK.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

By reaching the mark of 10.000 faces we want to publish a PEACE BOOK containing the uploaded photos and statements as well as poems and essays.
We will hand it over to people with key features in politics, religion, economy and organizations to claim their commitment to world peace and set a visible sign that people all over the world are longing for a life in peace.
Furthermore we are planing international exhibitions.
It's our wish to touch and inspire people to believe in global peace. Everybody who wants to make a change is most welcome to support us with My Face For Peace.

Why would you support this project?

Our world today suffering from wars, conflicts, destruction of nature and social and economical injustice needs messages of hope, love and peace.
The 10.000 people who joined our campagin stand for people all around the world who are longing to live in peace. Seeing their wonderful faces and statements has got an immense hearttouching and inspiring power.
Three years uncountable hours of compassionate peace work are in My Face For Peace - 100% financed privately. Now we reached a point where we need your support to realize the next aim. Please help us to bring the PEACE BOOK into reality.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The money will be used for the printing of the book.
If we raise more money :-) it will be used for the exhibitions of My Face For Peace.

Who are the people behind the project?

Saeeid Dastmalchian (www.dastmalchian.de) works as a free-lance artist, communication designer and publisher. He was born in Tehran and came to Germany at the age of 13 during the Iran-Iraq war in 1984. He is initiator of various intercultural and interreligious projects (mostly book and exhibition concepts) for integration and an appreciative, peaceful coexistence in this society. All he does is an expression of an artistic process of confrontation with the vision of an all pervasive, boundless truth that wants to facilitate human encounter on one level, free of nationality and religious affiliation.
Cordula Dastmalchian was born in 1972, is mother of two sons, naturopath and author. She accompanies the artistic and cultural projects of her husband throughout the years.
