With 300€ we’d be able to cover most of our expenses. Although we’d still have to rely on outside sponsorships to realize the project.
The Music video aims to explain the story in 3 parts:
1. Peter performing at the piano in an empty hall, surrounded by dancers (designed by a
professional choreographer)
2. Explored relationship between a mother and a daughter, shot in a scenic setting (story is lead by lyrics)
3. Interviews of people with the same experiences and their stories getting visualized in an artistic way, to support the statement of the song.
Because we’re all studying media production and plan on working in the industry, we’re confident to create a high quality product that will succeed at festivals and award shows.
Peter Sampel is still affected by his difficult relationship with his father, so much so that he wrote the song years after the events took place. He’s not only looking to work on the turmoil within himself but seeks connection with people with similar upbringings and wants to bring attention to the topic itself.
This is where we come into play: We want to help Peter tell his story to the world and actively work to be a part of creating a communal sense of belonging, catering to those affected by their own relationships with their parents and maybe even start a process of healing.
Realizing a movie is never an easy or cheap task and seeing there are a lot of talented students at the technical University of Ostwestfalen- Lippe, students are required to finance their projects on their own. This is always a difficult part, even more so in a global pandemic.
The crew has to be minimized, professionals have to take on more than usual and there are new regulations, costly regulations, put into place as we speak. All of this leads to budgeting problems we are unable to handle on our own and therefore we need help funding this projects.
Our biggest expenses will be:
- rent for locations
- agency fees for actors
- travel expenses for cast and crew
- accommodation and catering on set
- preparation and mandatory hygiene products for the safety of cast and crew
- Potential Covid-19 tests
