Vor genau dreihundert Jahren in Leipzig mit Johann Sebastian Bach als erstem Musiker ist Breitkopf und Härtel heute ein Global Player, wenn es um Noten für Profis, Orchester und Amateure geht. Bis vor wenigen Jahren war das Unternehmen in Familienhand und ging 2015 in eine Stiftung über. Relativ unbeachtet findet sich „der“ Notenverlag seit 1945 in Wiesbaden.
