DER FOTOGRAF
Schon als kleiner Junge bekam Niklas Heinecke große Augen, als er die Fotoreportagen in der NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC sah, von weit entfernten Ländern und fremden Kulturen. Seitdem war es sein Traum, irgendwann selbst solche Geschichten zu fotografieren.
Inzwischen hat sich Niklas als Fotograf etabliert und für verschiedene Magazine Forscher, Entdecker und Abenteurer in aller Welt begleitet. Es ist das, was ihm am meisten Spaß macht: die Suche nach außergewöhnlichen Geschichten und Orten.
DAS TEAM
Damit COLD WATERS so hochwertig wie möglich wird und seinen Lesern lange Freude bereitet, hat sich Niklas die Unterstützung einiger Freude aus dem Kreativbereich geholt, die zahllose Stunden liebevoller Arbeit in das Buch investiert haben:
Falk Heckelmann: Falk hat das Outdoor-Magazin WALDEN mitentwickelt und lange als Art Director verantwortet. Er war es, der COLD WATERS Form verliehen hat.
Sarah Niemann: Filmemacherin Sarah war auf der Strecke von Estland bis Schweden mit an Bord der Ju Mar und hat die Passage mit ihrer Kamera festgehalten – eine Dokumentation ist bereits in Arbeit. In COLD WATERS hat sie außerdem das Layout mitverantwortet und die Karten illustriert, die die Routen des Segeltrips nachzeichnen.
Laslo Seyda: Laslo ist seit Jahren als freier Journalist tätig und schreibt regelmäßig für Reise-, Abenteuer- und Outdoor-Magazine. Für COLD WATERS durchsuchte er die Logbücher der Ju Mar nach jenen Notizen und Anekdoten, die erzählenswert sind.
Who's behind the project?
THE PHOTOGRAPHER
As a little boy Niklas Marc Heinecke was amazed by the photo stories of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, that showed him distant countries and foreign cultures. It has been his dream ever since to someday capture those kind of pictures himself.
Today Niklas has established himself as a photographer and has portrayed international researchers, explorers and adventurers for all kinds of magazines. It is what he enjoys most: the hunt for extraordinary stories and places.
THE TEAM
To make COLD WATERS as beautiful and long-lasting as possible, Niklas has teamed up with some friends from the creative sector, who have invested countless hours of passionate work into the book.
Falk Heckelmann: Falk co-created the outdoor magazine WALDEN and was responsible as its art director for many years. He was the one who brought COLD WATERS into shape.
Sarah Niemann: Filmmaker Sarah joined Joscha and Niklas during their way from Estonia to Sweden, which she filmed with her camera – a documentary is already in the works. In COLD WATERS, she helped design the layout of the book as well as contributing illustrations of the route.
Laslo Seyda: Laslo has been working as a freelance journalist for years and often writes for travel, adventure and outdoor magazines. For COLD WATERS, he searched the logbooks of the Ju Mar for those notes and anecdotes, that are worth telling.
