Wir waren das dunkle Herz der Stadt - der Untergang der Hamburger Gängeviertel. Ein Doku-Film über die berüchtigten, so genannten Hamburger 'Verbrecherviertel', die planmäßig im Rahmen umfangreicher Stadterneuerungsmaßnahmen abgebrochen wurden. Die Vertreibung eines großen Teils der Bevölkerung der Altstadt ab 1882 war Voraussetzung für diese Maßnahmen und begleitet von Unruhen, Korruption und Spekulation.
