WELCOME INTO THE KINGDOM OF BANTAR GEBANG

The documentary "The Kingdom of BGBJ - Sampah" (WT) provides insights into a world that is hard to grasp. We accompany a young woman who is incessantly advocating for the dignity of the people of Bantar Gebang. For years, Resa Boenard has been fighting single-handedly against the prejudices and stigmata that people have to face when living in societies leftovers.

"Corona Community Support"

Michael Horschelt

Liebe UnterstützerInnen,
Die Welt steht still.

Euer BdV e.V.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear supporters,
at the moment everything is standing still and the corona virus has the world under control. It affects every one of us. It is a completely new situation. For each and every one of us, our friends and our families.

Millions of us are isolated from the outside world in their homes. Millions of us are concerned about loved ones and our own health. Millions of us are trying to understand the rapid changes. Now is the time to be there for each other. Only together can we counter such a crisis and think about the future.

But not everyone is lucky enough to isolate themselves from an emergency and, above all, to protect themselves. This is the case for the "Wastepicker" families in Bantar Gebang. Their livelihoods are the leftovers of the city of Jakarta, and working on the garbage dump puts people at a great risk of infection. But it is not only the hygienic conditions that put the families in considerable danger. All recycling companies are currently closed, with the result that people's income has vanished and they can no longer support themselves.

We would like to support our partner organization "The Kingdom of BGBJ" in this exceptional emergency situation and have decided to donate the funds raised as part of the "Face your Waste" Startnext campaign for meals and the "Weekly food" program to the "Corona Community Support” program to be able to provide immediate emergency help. Clean meals are needed now more than ever.

Thanks to your support, children and families can receive 77 care packages. The packages include the following items:

10kg Rice
10* Pasta
1L Oil
1* Chicken Serundeng
1kg Sugar
1 kg Eggs (ca 15-18 Stück)
1 Pack of Sardines
1 Pack of Tee

This care package is designed to cover the basic needs of one week for one family. We sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are well.
Stay healthy.
