Continuous Reflections from the Ripples of Davos π Reflections part 2
Hello Beloveds!
Wow, it's been a process of landing, grounding and digesting all of the different layers of what took place at Davos (and the process continues)...
I know some of you joined my private Telegram group (where I sent some live updates during my time in Davos): I ended up making one IG live my last full day in Davos, but for the rest have been quite private about the most important encounter that was made the week of the WEF.
In short, when I arrived in Davos, I saw that Gustavo Pimenta, the CEO of Vale Mining Company would be speaking in the Brazil House during the week: Vale recently took over the contracting for the mining project in the South of Bahia (Porto Sul & FIOL) that I have been engaged with the past 3,5 years, living in this region. For over 20 years, the local population (including 3 local indigenous tribes) have been silenced with their need to STOP this project: it is a natural/cultural disaster in the making.
In short, while in Davos, I wrote him a letter (on behalf of the indigenous, local Bahians and stunning bio-diversity of this area) and asked him to understand what is at stake with the building of Porto Sul & FIOL: I addressed his humanity and responsibility (and made quite a good tone to the letter). I MIRACULOUSLY was able to GIVE him the letter before his talk at the Brazil House, and after his talk, I was approached by the External Affairs manager of Vale, asking me for contacts in this region (as they had none)...they read the letter and were receptive!
The real work has been taking place the past few weeks: I wove them with 2 of the main activists (a biologist and filmmaker), and they have recently started a dialogue & meeting online: apparently Vale has no clue about what is at stake in this area.
Bridge work is being made now, and I am also in a process of seeing how to best support from afar, and how to do this with integrity: especially with the locals in Bahia (who have a history of being silenced and exploited, especially the Indigenous): if you have any resources regarding policy work, environmental/cultural protection, sacred activist work, please reach out to me!
I consider this a miraculous and guided process, and doing my best to stay grounded, pray, and reach out to my mycelial network.
I THANK YOU ALL SO SO SO SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT: in all of these ways!!!!!!!!!
