Crowdfunding since 2010

bridge the gap between graduates entering the professional dance world and the already professionals.

We want to give three selected graduated students the opportunity to show their solos in a professional context and environment. What a better way than having an evening especially put together for this purpose! The whole evening is called TEMPERATURE. Hannes- Michael Bronczkowski, teacher from these students in IAB (Institute of the Arts Barcelona) would be the production manager/artistic director guiding them into a professional context.

What is this project all about?

The evening is comprised of three contemporary solo ́s created by three graduating Students of the Institute of Arts in Barcelona and a duet created by Jenna Pollack and Michael Bronczkowski.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

This project/production’s main aim is to bridge the gap between those studying dance and entering into the professional dance world and those who are already professional practitioners. It is a joint production in which the freshly graduated students and professional dancers share the stage together under one theme. This production benefits graduating students by enabling them to perform in a professional context, with professional dancers in a theatre. It also allows an interesting exchange from those who have already played the game and those who are learning how to play it. This project /production not only provides a safe work environment for all participants but it further provides a real working opportunity.
This special evening of dance aims to link a major University of the Arts in Barcelona with the ever so steadily growing freelance dance scene in Mannheim/Germany. The production will bring a fresh input into the already existing dance scene and provide opportunities for artist to establish long-lasting working – relationships.

Why would you support this project?

Bridging the gap between the new and old is very important. Not only would it provide an interesting and essential artistic exchange further it would allow a vital passing on from one dance generation which is still active to the next one, up and coming. Why wait until you can´t move to pass on vital information for the constantly changing craft as a dancer. The sooner this exchange can happen, the quicker the next generation of dancers can benefit and play an important part in shaping today’s dance world.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The complete TEMPERATURE production will cost 7 000€. We expect to receive from the city of Mannheim a total of 5000€ .

We would just need 2000€ more to complete the whole funding.

This funding will be to cover flights for all 4 dancers (1x round-trip) + simple but comfortable housing and per diem for the dancers (Total of 9 days , 26th of June - 4 th of July ).

Who are the people behind the project?

Behind the project you will have as we said, professional artists and just graduated students.
