Yes they do exist: Running products that are designed and produced in a way that doesn’t affect humankind and nature more than necessary. All you have to do is find them. We want to relieve you of that exact task! With THE GOOD RUN, the first online shop for GOOD running gear. Good for our planet, good for the people and never compromising when it comes to style and performance. THE GOOD RUN makes sustainable shopping a breeze for all runners!
THE GOOD RUN is all about channeling the positive energy of our sport. That is why our concept consists of 3 parts:
1) THE GOOD SHOP: a curated Online Shop featuring brands from all over the world that create their products with people and nature in mind, saving resources or even making the world a little bit better - with social, economic oder ecological impact.
2) THE GOOD CHECKOUT: a portion of the price of every product will go to charitable sports projects. The respective amount will be clearly shown under each article in the online shop. During check out, our customers will be able to choose which one of our preselected projects they want their contribution to go to.
3) TEAM GOOD RUN: A decentralised community of likeminded runners that (want to) represent our shared mindset. Apart from the good feeling our community can look forward to exclusive products, events and more benefits!
As a social start-up, we want to interconnect entrepreneurship with social responsibility. This is also reflected in working together in a dynamic equity-split model in which every employee will have a share in the company.
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
With THE GOOD RUN we aim to make shopping for sustainable sportswear easier and more comprehensible for everyone.
We want to create awareness for brands and products that enable a different way of consumption.
With this concept we are addressing athletes, runners in particular, who want to look good when exercising but who also care about the origin of their gear, who produced it and what effect it has - socially, economically and ecologically.
Why would you support this project?
If you’re an athlete and you’re also mindful about the footprint your consumption leaves behind in this world, THE GOOD RUN is made for you.
If you believe that sustainable consumption, great styles and performance are mutually exclusive then THE GOOD RUN will surprise you.
THE GOOD RUN empowers us runners to make a contribution to saving our resources and ultimately our planet. And as you all know we need it to run on.
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
When we reach our first funding goal (10.000€), we will produce all Rewards and will also be able to build our complete shop system with all extras, such as the functions for donation and the community section. The goal is to go online as soon as possible. Our target date is Fall/Winter 2020.
If we reach our second funding target (25.000€) we will be able to finance the foundation of our company, cover marketing costs and pay for some of the first purchasing of goods for the start of the online shop.
Who are the people behind the project?
THE GOOD RUN is not a classic "business idea" for us, but a very personal thing. We work together in a team of 9 people on our heart project.
Each of us is involved in the company (according to the slicing pie model). Because we demand fair working conditions not only for the employees of the brands in our online shop.
