Startnext uses a chatbot. For AI systems with limited risk, such as chatbots or AI systems that generate content, transparency obligations apply, e.g., the obligation to inform users about AI-generated content so that they can make informed decisions about their further use.
Startnext stands for respectful and safe interaction among all participants. For this reason, we have defined rules for creating, sharing, and commenting on content. These rules describe which content is allowed and which content may be removed or lead to account suspension. We moderate projects using a two-stage process:
Submitted content is reviewed by our team for compliance with guidelines.
Violations can be reported via the "Report Violation" link under each project. This ensures that problematic content is promptly removed while legitimate contributions remain online.

If you discover content on our platform that violates our rules or contains illegal content, you can report it as a violation directly on the affected project at any time.
Our team reviews each report according to the following procedure:
Report Receipt: We review the reported content within 24 hours.
Initial Assessment: We verify whether the content actually violates our guidelines or legal requirements.
Measures: Depending on the severity of the violation, we may remove the content, temporarily suspend the user account, or take legal action.
Notification: We inform both the reporter and the content creator about the result of our review and subsequent actions.
We always make decisions about content considering our Guidelines, applicable laws, and the fundamental rights of all parties involved. For questions or appeals, you can contact us through our Contact Form.
On our marketplace, we do not use individual algorithms to recommend specific projects to you. We also do not store sensitive data (e.g., religion, health) for our recommendations.
The reasons for which we may decide on the complete or partial suspension, termination, or restriction of our services for commercial users can be found in our General Terms and Conditions and our Special Terms and Conditions for Creators.
We currently use Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, and our newsletter as additional channels to further promote projects and rewards from our creators.

We provide you with an option at https://www.startnext.com/Projekte.html to filter the display of projects on our platform using self-selected filters (category, city, phase, partner campaign). Additionally, you can set the filters "Recommended," "New," "Ending Soon," "Successful." These have the following meanings:
New: Projects that have entered the start or funding phase in the last 7 days
Recommended: Projects individually selected by our experienced project managers based on criteria for projects in our recommendations
Ending Soon: Projects whose funding phase will end within 7 days
Successful: Projects that have reached more than 100% of their sought-after first funding goal
The sorting of displayed projects within the filters is based on the so-called Crowdindex, which we continuously develop. We have not published the functionality of the Crowdindex, as disclosing the algorithms behind it would enable targeted manipulation of the order and deception of users.
