What is this project all about?
Explain your motivation and your idea. What’s the goal of your project? If your supporters can share your idea with one or two sentences, you did it right.
The project description doesn’t have to highlight every detail about your project. You can use blog posts to talk about specific informations during the campaign.
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
Every project has a specific target group. Describe who should be interested in your campaign and the way you help them by solving their problems or satisfy their needs.
You should define your target group up front. Think about exactly who makes up your target audience, and which content is interesting for your them.
Why would you support this project?
In exchange for their contributions, supporters of your project can choose from a selection of rewards that you have determined in advance. Whether you reach your funding goal is largely dependent on the attractiveness of the rewards you are offering. Rewards are only sent out once your project has been successfully funded and you have realized your project.
Point out why potential supporters should support you and why the rewards are attractive for them. Please check our handbook for starters for more informations: http://bit.ly/handbook-rewards
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
How much funding do you need to realize your project, and how much can you realistically collect via crowdfunding? Should you fund the entire project through crowdfunding, or only a part of it? If you already have sponsors or promoters, for example, you might only need to partially finance your project via crowdfunding contributions. Make it clear in your project description exactly how the money will be used.
Determining the funding goal
Project costs (e.g. materials, rent payments, fees)
+ Rewards (production, shipping, VAT)
+ 4% transaction fees
+ Voluntary commission for Startnext
= Funding goal
Please check our handbook for starters for more informations: http://bit.ly/handbook-fundinggoal
What is a funding threshold?
The funding threshold is the minimum amount required to realize the project, like a "milestone". The funding threshold is linked to specific conditions that are described on the project page.
The funding threshold is a beta feature that we can activate upon request. If you are interested, contact your project advisor. Because it makes a campaign more complicated, setting a funding threshold is recommended only if there is a reasonable justification - for example, if the project can be carried out at different quality levels.
Who are the people behind the project?
Introduce yourself and your team. Your supporters want to know who you are. Convince them that you have the experience, motivation and expertise to realize the project as described.
