Worum geht es in dem Projekt?
Datsuzoku is a film about a girl(Ikaya) who wants to escape from daily routine or the ordinary but is held back constantly by her parents and the society. It is a film about the inherent limitations of society. We function in a world that encourages a very specific kind of growth. These limitations are learned as we get older and growth is only perceived as a nuisance when we reach a certain age. It's a story about her dreams and how they come crashing down in reality. She finds out what fake happiness is. Like all children, Ikaya is not aware of the restrictions of the society she lives in. She is unfazed by her restraints, but as she grows up she learns that freedom is limited and fleeting.
This project conveys an unique storytelling aspect with
experimental techniques that fuses 3D rendering with 2D effects.
And feeding three talented and poor fresh animation
Was sind die Ziele und wer ist die Zielgruppe?
The goal of the project is to make people re-examine the way we function in society, to gauge how much of our individuality is lost in our struggle to be part of the system. The film explores the idea of conditional freedom, the struggle to remain unbound by convention, and the eventual resignation to conformity. The project should trigger questions that most of us may feel obligated to ask or rather never tried to ask, despite cultural, family or social restrictions.
The film serves as a mirror so that audiences can analyze themselves. It is for the individuals so that they ask whether they have succumbed to the pressures of what is expected of them. It is for societies as whole so that they question the restraints of the system and their repercussions. The project is for people who have gone through the struggle of fighting against convention so that they realize that this is not something that was done to them but rather something we have created and done to ourselves.
Warum sollte jemand dieses Projekt unterstützen?
We are 3 hungry animators who want to create something new. It is our hunger for animation that drives us forward and experiment with it. I like to use CG as a medium, but like to experiment with technique with each project. We are trying to create something which might make people think, both intellectually as well as visually and this can be made possible only by YOU.
The message of the film goes beyond limitations like conventional rules and societal expectations regarding education and occupation. The message extends to more personal everyday choices, like the music you listen to, the way you wear you hair, what you like to do for fun. The irony of the world we live in today is that in places where there is more freedom, there is also more judgment, and the fear of breaking unwritten social rules has caused more pain than actual disobedience to ratified rules or laws.
Was passiert mit dem Geld bei erfolgreicher Finanzierung?
If we are successfully funded, we would make sure that we create the film in such a way that none of our backers ever regret funding us for the film.
We would be working full-time on this project till November-end and this wouldn't be possible if we don't get this bare-minimum funding for the film. We would be using a major share of the money in order to buy plug-ins,etc and hire a render farm firstly. Then we would be using the money in order to hire a good SFX Artist in order to sound design and to mix the sound effects along with the music.
We would be spending a majority of the money in order to send the film out to film festivals all across the world.
Note: In case of a successful project financing the non-profit organization "Academy of Media and Arts Association e.V." (IAMA), represented by the ANIMATION TALENT AWARD-profile, accepts the money and pays the project initiator off.
