The project is all about to support Ukrainian people who is in the current tough situation.
In addition to raise donation to financially support humanitarian organizations that support Ukraine, we also connect people in Leipzig; Ukrainians newly started their life in Leipzig and locals.
As we, the organizer of the event, work in the food and event field in Leipzig, we would like to connect people with food and culture. That's why we host the film evenings.
There are three goals for the film evenings:
The film evenings are for all the people who are interested in Ukrainian food and culture and wish the world become peaceful.
You will have good time while you enjoy eating authentic Ukrainian food and watching a film. We plan to serve a cup of soup, bread and dessert.
Due to the Startnext system, we must charge you a minimum of 5 EUR to participate in one of the film evenings. However beyond that it is on a donation basis at the site.
All the money will be donated to projects that are working on humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
The event is hosted by Gohan Power team and supported by individuals and organizations that share the objectives of the event.
Gohan Power is a team of two; Akiko Takahashi originally from Tokyo Japan and Christian Atz from Black Forest Germany, who have been working together for projects more than ten years.
The name "Gohan Power" named after the belief that "gohan" (food or meal in Japanese) has power to encourage and connect us humans. The team was initially formed to work on a kids' food educational project at Social Impact Lab Leipzig in 2016. We serve food for startup events, private parties and at a local market Samstagsmarkt in Plagwitz, Leipzig.
