1st week - 24 per cent!
Dear supporters, dear friends,
Liebe Unterstützer, liebe Freunde,
just a little note to send you a big THANK YOU for this wonderful campaign start! You have given almost one quarter of the money we need.
Nur ein kleiner Gruß, um euch ein riesiges DANKESCHÖN für diesen großartigen Kampagnenstart zu schicken! Ihr habt insgesamt schon ein Viertel der benötigten Summe zusammengebracht.
Your trust and your support have given this this project perfect energy - it's so much easier to get new people excited when others already are.
Euer Vertrauen und eure Unterstützung haben dem Projekt Rückenwind gegeben - es ist unendlich viel leichter, neue Unterstützer zu begeistern, wenn andere schon begeistert sind.
As little gift, I'm sending you the book's first lines in English - Dale, the translater, can't wait to get going :-)
Als kleines Geschenk schicke ich euch die ersten Zeilen der englischen Fassung - Dale, der Übersetzer, scharrt schon mit den Hufen :-)
Lots of love from
Seid von Herzen gegrüßt von

Riding a motorcycle was a dream of mine ever since I was fifteen. At some point, I wanted to tour the USA – with my own bike goes without saying. By the time I had saved up enough money for a license and a motorcycle (and had the time to ride it), I was thirty-seven. I bought Josi, my black and yellow BMW F650GS: a perfect, sturdy and – of course – beautiful touring bike. And now I finally (!) have the chance to roam with Josi through the land of dreams.
I just turned Josi over to customs; a container ship will transport my baby from Bremerhaven across the Atlantic to Baltimore on the US East Coast. I’ve now got three days to get to Antwerp with my luggage. My ship, the Independent Spirit, will set sail from there for Chester, a port city near Philadelphia. It sounds complicated, and it is. But Josi’s ship doesn’t allow passengers, and the freighter which I originally wanted to take from Bremerhaven to Baltimore got transferred to the Mediterranean two weeks prior to my departure. My one and only chance to cross the Atlantic within my desired time frame was from Antwerp. Somehow, I’ll find Josi again once I arrive there – and then there’s nothing more to stand between us and thirty thousand kilometers of freedom."
