Praised as “delightful and so refreshing” (Boston Musical Intelligencer), Jeanine Krause performs on oboes and recorders with orchestras and as a soloist in Germany, the USA and worldwide. She is revered as a teacher and coach for oboists and wind players.
She established JK Studio & Reed Making to assist oboists who are achieving intense musical expression. The Studio has three programs: Intensive, Dynamic and Sustaining. During each level, students hone the skills to achieve intense musical expression. She, together with Sprightly Companions Ensemble bassoonist, Jennifer Harris, holds a yearly retreat for Baroque Oboists and Bassoonists.
Currently, Jeanine is serving as the Secretary on the Board of Directors for the International Double Reed Society (IDRS) and on the Advisory Council of Lutheran Music Program, a four-week long summer academy for high school musicians of which she is an alum.
In addition to The Sprightly Companions, which tours and lectures, col She is a founding member the Boston Early Music Festival featured oboe band, Symphonie des Dragons fashioned after Lully’s Douze Grand Hautbois and led by Gonzalo X. Ruiz. In 2019 Jeanine became the director of its European division which was a featured ensemble during the International Double Reed Society Virtual Symposium in 2021. Jeanine Krause together with Geoffrey Burgess is the co-coordinator of the IDRS Baroque Band (established at the 2022 Conference in Boulder, CO, USA.)
